SURTECO and SCM: a hands-on EDGE-ucation session in Melbourne

Last week our SCM Tech Centre in Melbourne welcomed SURTECO for a hands-on EDGE-ucation session, bringing both teams together to work through the full edgebanding journey from start to finish.

As our edge tape and adhesive supplier, SURTECO brought the materials at the heart of every edgebanding job. Putting their tapes and glues to work across the full range of our machinery made for a session that was as practical as it was informative.

The demonstration walked through the complete progression of edgebanding technology:

→ tape warmers
→ single-sided edgebanders
→ edgebanding on CNC
→ standalone contour edgers

Working through every step side by side is what makes a session like this so valuable. Both teams could see how different edge tapes and adhesives behave in practice, compare finishes across each method, and deepen a shared understanding of how the materials and machinery perform together.
