SCM strengthens its timber construction presence in New Zealand at WoodWorks 2026

SCM has concluded its participation in the WoodWorks 2026 Conference, held on 28 and 29 October at Toitoi in Hastings. For over 10 years, the conference has been a cornerstone of the New Zealand timber design calendar.

With its participation, SCM promoted its timber construction technologies in the New Zealand market. At Stand 12, visitors discussed their production goals with the SCM team and explored the company’s solutions for timber frame and mass timber manufacturing.

The SCM team included Boris Chernyshev, Country Manager of SCM Australia and New Zealand; Mark Tutty, SCM Key Account Manager for New Zealand, based in Auckland; and Davide Vespaziani, Product Area Manager for CNC machining centres and systems for timber construction, who travelled from Italy for the event and joined the conference programme as a Tech Talk speaker.

“WoodWorks 2026 was a strategic step for SCM in New Zealand. We met many of the main players in the industry, and the response to our capabilities in timber processing, sanding and finishing was very positive. That is our unique proposal: SCM is able to provide this full range of technologies,” said Boris Chernyshev.

At the conference, visitors had the opportunity to discover SCM’s latest solutions for timber frame, glulam beams, mass timber, CLT and engineered panels, light frame, trusses and prefab walls, together with Superfici painting solutions.
