SCM invests in New Zealand with a dedicated local team
SCM’s direct presence in the New Zealand market brings new commercial and technical expertise, advanced after-sales services and a broader offering of technological solutions for the woodworking industry.
The goal is to provide customers with even more comprehensive assistance, working alongside local dealer Machines R US.
SCM announces the strengthening of its presence in New Zealand with the introduction of a new directly managed local organisation. This strategic investment confirms the Group’s commitment to laying the foundations for future growth in the woodworking industry, despite the current challenging macroeconomic environment.
SCM has been present in the New Zealand market for around 40 years through a network of local partners and, over the past ten years, has worked with Machines R US, developing an in-depth understanding of the needs of companies operating in the region.
The new organisation represents a further step forward in SCM’s relationship with woodworking companies: following the appointment of first two specialised professionals dedicated to sales and technical service activities, SCM’s goal is to progressively expand the local team over the coming months.
SCM’s direct presence will enable the Group to work even more closely with woodworking companies requiring specialised expertise in SCM solutions, with a particular focus on high-technology projects, engineering and integrated solutions aimed at improving efficiency, flexibility and process optimisation, while helping manufacturers address the shortage of skilled labour.
The new SCM team will work in close collaboration with the dealer, Machines R US, leveraging the complementary strengths of both organisations to provide New Zealand woodworking companies with comprehensive solutions, expert advice and improved after-sales services.
Machines R US will also continue to serve as the sole dealer in New Zealand for the other Italian brands of the Group, Mecal Machinery and CMS specialised on non-wood applications.

Currently connecting over 5,400 machines worldwide, it uses sensors, connectivity and intelligent algorithms to turn machine data into actionable insights that improve efficiency across the entire asset lifecycle.
